Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, Zaka Ashraf, met with KarachiWhites captain Sarfaraz Ahmed and pacer Shahnawaz Dahani a day after theside’s Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2023 win.
**Karachi Whites** won the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy for the fifth time afterdefeating Faisalabad with a resounding 456-run margin in the lopsided finalat Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
Their last title win occurred in the 2001-02 season when they beat Peshawarin the final by eight wickets. Before that, they completed a hat-trick oftitles in 1990-91, 1991-92, and 1992-93.
The Karachi Whites captain was declared the Player of the Tournament forhis 697 runs and 28 dismissals. His teammate Saim Ayub was awarded thePlayer of the Match.
The PCB Chairman congratulated Sarfaraz Ahmed, who led Pakistan to theirmaiden ICC Champions Trophy win in 2017 and achieved a record 11consecutive T20I series victories. He praised the former Pakistan captain’scaptaincy and stellar performances during the meeting.
It is important to mention that Sarfaraz Ahmed had expressed his dedicationto giving his best performances for the benefit of the team.
Zaka Ashraf also congratulated Shahnawaz Dahani for his excellentperformance.
He reiterated PCB’s commitment to continue working for the welfare of theplayers and the support of domestic cricket.
