Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin has expressed concern over thespread of the Israel-Palestine conflict throughout the Middle East.
According to reports from international media, religious leaders fromvarious denominations met with Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin, discussing aceasefire in the ongoing conflict between Hamas and Israel.
On this occasion, the Russian President emphasized that theIsrael-Palestine conflict could escalate beyond the Middle East, and thebombing of innocent women, children, and the elderly in Gaza is highlyunjust. He stressed the need to stop bloodshed and violence.
He warned that if Israel doesn’t halt its military campaign, the risk offurther escalation of the conflict is high.During the meeting, PresidentPutin also criticized Western countries supporting Israel, stating that theWest is using religious conflicts in the Middle East to destabilize theworld.
“He (the West) turns a blind eye to crimes against Muslims in the Maghreb,”Putin alleged.He accused the West of using religious conflicts to maintaincontrol in the Maghreb and said that it is fueling religious discord andintolerance. Putin claimed that they are working under the “divide andconquer” strategy to create a new world order.
Putin further stated that the Maghreb is using Islamophobia and Russophobiaas tools. He suggested that the Maghreb aims to spread its influence tohinder the progress of free and independent nations worldwide.
He warned that the contagion of violence and hatred could also affectEurope alongside the Middle East, emphasizing that the Maghreb closes itseyes to crimes against Muslims and manipulates the religious sentiments ofMuslims in Western countries.
