UK issues new travel advisory against Pakistan

The United Kingdom (UK) has released a new travel advisory regardingPakistan in light of recent cancellations of Pakistan InternationalAirlines (PIA) flights to and from Gilgit and Skardu. This situation hasraised concerns about limited travel options, as no alternative carriersare available and road routes may be hindered by seasonal weatherconditions.

The cancellation of these flights is exacerbated by the adverse effects ofseasonal weather, particularly the potential closure of the Babusar Passdue to heavy snowfall, which could restrict road travel in the region.

In response to these developments, the UK Foreign Office has issuedguidance for travelers in the affected areas, recommending that theyconsult their airline and travel agent for advice on alternative travelarrangements.

Furthermore, the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has beenproviding travel advisories for Pakistan, particularly warning against alltravel to certain districts and regions due to security concerns. Essentialtravel is advised against in specific areas within Pakistan, includingportions of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and Sindh Province.
