Pakistan successfully test launched advanced ballistic missile system

In Rawalpindi, Pakistan, on Thursday, a successful training launch of theGhauri weapon system took place. The purpose of this launch was to assessthe operational and technical readiness of the Army Strategic ForcesCommand, as reported by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) onTuesday.

The event was attended by various dignitaries, including the Commander ofthe Army Strategic Force Command (ASFC), senior officers from the strategicforces, and scientists and engineers from the strategic organization.

Commander ASFC commended the high standard of training and operationalpreparedness of the Army Strategic Forces. This commendation was a resultof the proficient handling of the weapon system in the field, as well asthe achievement of operational and technical objectives. He also expressedappreciation for the contributions made by scientists and engineers toenhance Pakistan’s strategic capabilities.

Notably, President Arif Alvi, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the Chairmanof the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC), and services chiefsextended their congratulations to the troops, scientists, and engineers forthe successful execution of the training launch.

This Ghauri test launch followed a separate successful test flight of theAbabeel Weapon System in the previous week, as confirmed by theInter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). The test flight aimed tore-validate various design aspects, technical parameters, and theperformance evaluation of different sub-systems within the weapon system.The military’s statement emphasized that the missile system’s purpose wasto strengthen deterrence and enhance strategic stability in the region,aligning with the concept of Full Spectrum Deterrence in the framework ofCredible Minimum Deterrence.
