During a sports program, Aamer Sohail was asked by the host what practicalwisdom should be instilled in Pakistan for the upcoming matches, to whichthe former opener replied that when facing the opposing team, you shouldunderstand your own capabilities and be aware of their skills.He statedthat if you think a player will perform certain actions on your terms, itwon’t work out that way.
Aamer Sohail mentioned that a spinner should have a long leash, openlysuggesting flighted deliveries. By calling a long bowler “flighted,” itbecomes evident how much authority the captain has.
He stressed that until your practical wisdom against the opposing team isnot accurate, the bowling won’t improve, and addressing bowling issues isnecessary because better batting is already being displayed.
