The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Punjab chapter has announced plans toorganize a workers’ convention in Lahore on October 22. This convention isscheduled to take place at Kahna in Lahore, commencing at 3 pm. PTI’sleadership has called upon its party members and supporters to activelyparticipate in this event.
However, it’s worth noting that the district coordination officer (DCO) hadpreviously denied a PTI request for a party gathering at LibertyRoundabout. This decision raised questions regarding the neutrality of thecaretaker government in the eyes of PTI.
Shoaib Shaheen, a lawyer representing PTI, asserted that the party hadsubmitted over 100 applications seeking permission to hold publicgatherings and rallies, yet none of them were approved.
Shaheen also expressed doubts about the Election Commission of Pakistan’s(ECP) capacity to address the perceived injustices inflicted upon PTI.These developments highlight the political tensions and challenges faced byPTI in organizing public events and rallies.
