Bombay High Court gives verdict on petition banning Pakistani artists in India

An Indian court recently made a significant decision regarding a petitionthat had called for a complete ban on Indian citizens collaborating withPakistani artists, including actors, singers, and musicians. This petition,which sought directions from various government ministries to imposerestrictions on Pakistani artists, was presented in the Bombay High Courtof India.

The case was presided over by Justice Sunil B Shukre and Justice Firdosh PPooniwalla.As per reports from local news agencies in India, the BombayHigh Court decided to reject the petition. An example cited was the permission granted to the Pakistani cricket teamto participate in the Cricket World Cup hosted in India. The courtexpressed concerns that entertaining such petitions from individuals withinthe film industry would undermine these efforts.

Furthermore, the court stressed the importance of activities that transcendnational boundaries and contribute to unity and harmony between nations.This includes various forms of arts, music, sports, culture, and dance.These activities were seen as vital in promoting peace, harmony, andtranquility on both a national and international level.
