The U.S. Department of State issued a statement on Friday, stating thatthey have imposed sanctions on three Chinese companies that are involved inproviding equipment related to missile preparation for Pakistan’s ballisticmissile program.
The statement, released by the U.S. Department of State spokespersonMatthew Miller, emphasizes the U.S.’s commitment to strengthening theglobal non-proliferation regime for nuclear weapons, aiming to counteractions by networks supporting concerning activities related to the spreadof nuclear proliferation.
According to the statement, “Today, we are designating three entities underExecutive Order (EO) 13382. This designation targets entities involved inproliferation or otherwise attempting to engage in activities ortransactions that pose a risk of enabling or contributing to the spread ofweapons of mass destruction and their means of delivery, including itemsused in the manufacture or use of such weapons.”
The U.S. Department of State specified that these three companies areGeneral Technology Limited, Beijing LuLu Technology Development CompanyLimited, and Changzhou Yu-Tech Composite Company Limited.
The statement further mentions that General Technology Limited providedmaterials used in the production of ballistic missile rocket engines andcombustion chambers, while Beijing LuLu Technology Development CompanyLimited supplied cylinders and other machinery used in making solidpropellant rocket motors, which can be used in missile technology controlregimes.
