Sheikh Rashid, an Awami Muslim League (AML) leader and a key ally of thePakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI), has re-emerged after reportedly beinggranted an exclusive ‘interview’ on a private news channel, as per claimsby a journalist considered close to the concerned quarters.
He was apprehended by the police in an undisclosed case on September 17,and his whereabouts had been unknown.Azaz Syed mentioned on his socialmedia account that Sheikh Rashid did not indicate any plans to dissolve hisparty or join the Istikham-e-Pakistan party led by Jahangir Tarin.
On Thursday, the Lahore High Court’s Rawalpindi bench issued a “finaldeadline” for the recovery of AML chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed.
The court instructed the police to locate and recover the former federalinterior minister by October 26. This case has garnered significantattention and raised questions about the circumstances surrounding SheikhRashid’s arrest.
