Arshad Sharif murder case investigation, New breakthrough development reported

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar, during a meeting with KenyanPresident Dr. William Ruto at the 3rd Belt and Road Forum for InternationalCooperation in Beijing, China, requested President Ruto’s assistance infinalizing the investigation into the murder of Pakistani journalist ArshadSharif.

The PM Office issued a statement regarding the meeting, highlighting theprime minister’s plea for facilitation in concluding the report of thespecial joint investigation team (JIT) regarding Arshad Sharif’s murder.

In addition to discussing the murder case, the two leaders engaged in talksabout various aspects of bilateral cooperation. They both reiterated theircommitment to strengthening relations between Pakistan and Kenya in thefields of trade, investment, education, and fostering people-to-peopleconnections.

The leaders emphasized the significance of economic collaboration andpledged to increase their engagement to unlock the full potential ofbilateral trade.

PM Kakar emphasized Pakistan’s role as a member of the Belt and RoadInitiative (BRI) and expressed Pakistan’s interest in deepeningcollaboration with other BRI member countries, including Kenya, to identifyand develop new projects and initiatives.

He stressed that this commitment underscores Pakistan’s dedication toadvancing development and shared prosperity through increased cooperationand partnerships.

President Dr. William Ruto reciprocated these sentiments and conveyedKenya’s interest in benefiting from Pakistan’s expertise in sectors such asagriculture and healthcare. This exchange underlines the shared commitmentof both countries to enhance cooperation and mutual development.
