“On the recommendation of the National Assembly committee, reinstating andmaking permanent the affected government employees faces setback. TheIslamabad High Court has suspended the recommendations regarding theaffected government employees, deeming the special committee’srecommendations unlawful.
Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani made the decision, and the court accepted allrequests against the committee’s recommendations. Unauthorized actions werealso taken against officers who did not act upon the committee’srecommendations.
The court ruling stated that if the committee had reinstated employeesbased on its directives, all orders should be withdrawn. The courtinstructed all ministries and departments not to act on the committee’srecommendations.
The court decision stated that the committee had started sending directivesdirectly to departments and offices. The court ordered the reinstatement of358 removed employees following judicial orders, and legal proceedings wereinitiated against FIA officers for military action.
According to the verdict, the FIA officers of the committee had no legalstanding for issuing notices, and the federal government did not supportthe special committee’s recommendations. These actions have had an impact,as the committee has exceeded the legal and constitutional mandate.
The Chairman of the National Assembly Committee for Affected Employees wasQadir Mandokhail. The committee had given instructions to regularizecontract, daily wage, and project employees. The committee had initiatedaction against several agencies, including the IB, for not acting on itsdirectives.
The heads of institutions had filed petitions in the High Court against thecommittee’s decision.”
