Shahid Afridi responds to rumours of friendship mafia in Pakistani cricket team

The captain of the national team, Shahid Afridi, says that in the 2011World Cup, he made a promise to himself and prayed that Allah would keephim from being unfair to anyone.

Under the leadership of Shahid Afridi, the Pakistani team had reached thesemi-finals of the World Cup in 2011, playing against India. Shahid Afridistated that when he supported young players like Ahmed Shehzad and FawadAlam, people said they were supporting those he favored.

He said that when he was new to the team, players like Misbah-ul-Haq,Inzamam-ul-Haq, and Wasim Akram had welcomed him and taught him how tohandle the responsibility of a new player in the team.

Shahid Afridi mentioned that friendship is important, but as the captainof the Pakistan team, you have to lead everyone together, not just at theclub level.

Friendships have to be set aside to lead the team. Misbah-ul-Haq emphasizedthat honesty plays the most significant role in leadership, saying that aperson can make mistakes, but they should avoid indulging in mischief as itleads to consequences.

He added that when a person is in a position of power, they should focuson their own thinking rather than thinking about others, as that increasesthe chances of getting caught.
