A senior official in Israel admitted this week that last week, beforeHamas’s sudden major attack, there were errors in their intelligenceassessments.
According to the news agency AFP, Israel’s National Security Adviser,Tzachi Hanegbi, during a press conference today, was questioned about theintelligence predictions before Hamas’s attack, to which he responded, “Itwas my mistake, and it reflects the mistakes of all those (in intelligence)who were estimating.”
He further stated, “We are convinced that Hamas learned a lesson from itslast major war with Israel in 2021.”
Regarding the Israel-Gaza conflict, China’s senior diplomat Wang Yi had atelephone conversation with his American counterpart, Antony Blinken, thisweek.
Wang stated that Washington should play a “constructive and responsiblerole” in the Israel-Gaza conflict.
According to AFP, in a statement from China’s Foreign Ministry, Wang toldBlinken that the United States should actively promote a “reconstructionand responsible role” and move quickly toward a political settlement. Wangemphasized the importance of dealing with delicate international issueswith truthfulness and transparency.
He called for maintaining peace, tolerance, and a leadership role inupholding international law. Wang also expressed the need for broaderconsensus on international security and called for an early internationalsecurity conference.
Wang mentioned that the issue of Palestine involves the “two-statesolution” in practical terms.
