Good News for Pakistanis seeking overseas employment in Saudi Arabia

Jawad Sohrab Malik, the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) forOverseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development (OP&HRD), met with HisExcellency Nawaf bin Said Al-Malki, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of SaudiArabia (KSA), to discuss the increasing workforce opportunities related tothe Saudi Vision 2030.

In this meeting, Malik requested the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to employ asubstantial number of Pakistani workers to support the realization of theSaudi Vision 2030, as stated in a press release issued on Saturday.Currently, approximately 5 million Pakistanis travel to Saudi Arabia eachyear, and there is a strong possibility that this number could surpass 1million. Malik emphasized that the diverse skills of Pakistani workers,spanning skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled labor, have been instrumentalin meeting Saudi Arabia’s workforce requirements effectively.

The SAPM emphasized Pakistan’s ability to offer more than 1 million skilledindividuals for employment opportunities created by the Saudi Vision 2030,which involves diversification and expansion of the Saudi economy intovarious sectors.

He also informed the Saudi authorities about the government’s efforts todevelop a skilled labor force, particularly in areas such as digitization,services, and tourism, to tap into the potential of the country’s youngworkforce.

The Saudi Ambassador expressed support for Malik’s proposal to increase theparticipation of Pakistan’s workforce in Saudi Arabia. Malik, in turn,expressed his gratitude to His Royal Highness, the Crown Prince, MuhammadBin Salman, for consistent and resolute support on economic, strategic, andbilateral matters.

Both sides agreed to continue discussions on new employment opportunitiesfor Pakistanis in Saudi Arabia through a forthcoming meeting to be hostedin Saudi Arabia, featuring SAPM on OP&HRD, Jawad Sohrab Malik, along withthe Labor Minister and other high-ranking officials from the Kingdom.
