Israel launches counter military attack on 3rd muslim country amidst war against Hamas

In Damascus, Syria, simultaneous missile strikes were carried out byIsraeli forces on the city’s capital airport and the airport in thenorthern city of Aleppo.

These attacks resulted in damage to the runways, rendering both airportsinoperable. A Syrian military source, reported by the state news agencySANA, mentioned that these “bursts of missiles” striking both airportssimultaneously were seen as an attempt to divert global attention fromIsrael’s conflict with Hamas militants in Gaza.

The Israeli military declined to comment on these reports. For years,Israel has been conducting strikes on what it claims are Iran-relatedtargets in Syria, which includes actions against Aleppo and Damascusairports.

These airport strikes are believed to disrupt Iranian supply routes toSyria, where Tehran’s influence has grown significantly due to its supportfor President Bashar al-Assad during the civil war that began in 2011.

These attacks occurred just a day before Iran’s foreign minister, HosseinAmirabdollahian, was scheduled to visit Syria.

Israel has pledged to dismantle the Hamas movement governing the GazaStrip as retaliation for the deadliest attack on its civilians, which tookplace when numerous armed individuals crossed the barrier and enteredIsraeli towns on Saturday.

Tehran has praised the actions of Hamas but has denied any involvement.

On another note, Israeli forces fired artillery and mortar shells intoSyria on Tuesday after rockets from southern Syria struck Israeli positionsalong the border.
