On Wednesday, in the Indian state of Bihar, a tragic incident occurred asan express train derailed, resulting in the loss of at least four lives andleaving around 80 individuals injured. This information was conveyed by adistrict official to Reuters.
The unfortunate derailment took place at the Raghunathpur railway stationin Bihar’s Buxar district, around 9:35 pm (1605 GMT). Specifically, itaffected twenty-one coaches of the North-East Express train, a routeconnecting Delhi and Assam. Tarun Prakash, the general manager of EastCentral Railway, provided these details.
In the aftermath of the derailment, reports indicated that three coacheshad overturned. However, the exact cause of this distressing incident wasnot immediately apparent.
As a result of the train accident in India, various other passenger andfreight trains had to be redirected, as reported by media sources.
India’s Minister of Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw, made an announcement on thesocial media network X, confirming the successful completion of theevacuation and rescue efforts for the affected train.
