The most challenging military competition in the world, the Pakistanimilitary has achieved a silver medal by outperforming several countries inthe grueling Cambrian Patrol held in Wales.
According to details, the Cambrian Patrol is considered one of the toughestchallenges for the military and has been held since 1959. Colonel TaimurRahat, the Army and Air Attaché at the Pakistan High Commission in London,stated that a total of 113 teams participated, including 38 internationalteams, including India.
Colonel Taimur Rahat explained that in the Cambrian Patrol, teams undergo48-hour exercises in a 60-kilometer area, facing combat situations anddealing with explosive materials. He highlighted the exceptionalperformance of the 67 Punjab Regiment of the Pakistan Army in thiscompetition.
These battles, established in 1972, have earned this battalion 1-star and7-bars in the wars. They emphasized that this competition tests thephysical, mental, and endurance capabilities of the soldiers, and the 67Punjab Regiment, led by Lieutenant Owais Usman, played a crucial role inPakistan’s victory, with team manager Major Osama and Major Haseeb. It isclear that they had previously won a gold medal in the 2016 World CambrianPatrol exercises.
These exercises consist of 7 stages, including one where soldiers have tomarch up to 55 kilometers with all their equipment, which can weigh up to60 pounds. Additionally, during the exercises, the soldiers have tonavigate through 249 mountains and deserts, as well as face defensivefirefights against enemy forces.
