Hamas leader delivers ultimatum to Israel

Palestinian resistance movement Hamas’ leader, Ismail Haniyeh, has statedthat no agreement is currently in place for the release of Israeliprisoners of war. Such an exchange might only be possible after aceasefire, and it will be on their own terms.

This statement was made in a two-sided position, emphasizing that theywill negotiate the release of the Israeli prisoners on their own terms, butcurrently, no such agreement is in progress.

Haniyeh also confirmed that several parties offering mediation for therelease of captives have contacted Hamas. They have been informed ofHamas’s clear stance that they will deal with the prisoners’ exchange ontheir terms, and currently, there is no agreement regarding the exchange ofprisoners.

It’s worth noting that the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas andIsrael have been engaged in an ongoing conflict that has resulted in thedeaths of over a thousand Palestinians and hundreds of Israelis in justfive days.

After multiple incidents of attacks by Israeli settlers on the Al-AqsaMosque, Hamas launched a sudden attack on Israel last week, firingthousands of rockets in just 20 minutes and capturing several Israelisoldiers and police officers.
