Pakistan under pressure to recognise Israel

Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the head of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazal (JUI-F),expressed concerns about Pakistan’s position on recognizing Israel, statingthat the country is facing external pressure to do so. He pointed out thatglobal powers are exerting influence on Pakistan in this regard.

Additionally, he highlighted the shifting stances of the opposition partieswithin the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM). Initially, they had agreedto hold general elections based on the new census data, but now, as thegovernment’s tenure comes to an end, they are pushing for early elections.

Fazlur Rehman also mentioned the previous economic challenges Pakistanfaced, including the depreciation of the Pakistani rupee, for which IshaqDar, a leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), was called uponbut failed to bring significant change. Now, the opposition is rallyingbehind former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

It’s worth noting that Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesperson, Mumtaz ZahraBaloch, refrained from commenting on the existence of secret ties betweenPakistan and Israel. She reiterated Pakistan’s clear stance on Israel butemphasized that any decision regarding this matter would be made in thecountry’s best interests.

Baloch made it clear that Pakistan makes its decisions independently,without the need for external guidance or pressure in matters related toIsrael.
