Russian President Putin mulling to enter war theater in Middle East after US Naval fleet support to Israel?

On Monday, the Kremlin responded to the movement of a U.S. carrier strikegroup moving closer to Israel, expressing concern about a “high risk” ofexternal parties becoming involved in the Israel-Palestinian conflict.

Dmitry Peskov, the Russian presidential spokesman, emphasized theimportance of initiating negotiations promptly to de-escalate tensions andavoid resorting to military solutions. Peskov noted the complex web ofinterests in the Middle East and the need to balance the rights of nationswith their security.

He also remarked that the situation in Israel appeared to be heading towardfurther escalation. These remarks followed U.S. Defense Secretary LloydAustin’s announcement that the Ford carrier strike group would be deployedcloser to the Eastern Mediterranean to enhance regional deterrence efforts.

This group comprises the advanced USS Gerald R. Ford aircraft carrier andvarious missile cruisers and destroyers. Additionally, the Pentagon isreinforcing U.S. Air Force fighter aircraft squadrons in the region,maintaining other responsive forces worldwide to support the EasternMediterranean as required.

The conflict between Israel and Hamas entered its third day on Monday,resulting in a rising death toll of at least 900 individuals, includingsoldiers and civilians from both sides.
