The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Monday that Pakistan’s fastbowlers, Naseem Shah, Mohammad Hasnain, and Ihsanullah, are in need ofrehabilitation to fully recover from their respective injuries. Hasnainsuffered an ankle injury in the Sri Lankan Premier League in August, whileIhsanullah and Naseem Shah faced elbow and shoulder injuries. Thisstatement from PCB comes at a crucial time, as the national team faces achallenge in the bowling department’s bench strength due to consecutiveinjuries.
Naseem Shah, the 20-year-old pacer, sustained a muscle injury just belowhis bowling shoulder during Pakistan’s second game against India at theAsia Cup 2023 last month.
He underwent a successful shoulder surgery and is now in stable condition.Naseem will receive rehabilitation from two physiotherapists at thetraining ground and gym, with a follow-up visit to the operating doctorscheduled for the third week of October.
Ihsanullah, a right-arm pacer, made his one-day international debut earlierthis year but has been ruled out of international cricket due to an elbowinjury. He underwent surgery in September and is currently wearing an elbowbrace, with daily monitoring by medical professionals.
Mohammad Hasnain, another fast bowler, suffered an ankle injury in the SriLankan Premier League in August. An MRI in England revealed the need forrehabilitation, and he has been undergoing this process since September13th.
