The United Nations Security Council has decided to convene an emergencymeeting today following the conflict between Israel and Hamas, according toreports from international news agencies.
The presidency of the United Nations Security Council is currently held byBrazil, and they called for this emergency meeting in the wake of the Hamasattacks on Israel.
The government of Brazil has condemned the Hamas attacks in a statement andexpressed solidarity with the people of Israel. Brazil’s Ministry ofForeign Affairs stated that there is no justification for resorting toviolence and called on both parties to exercise maximum restraint toprevent further escalation.
