ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Armed Forces conducted a successfulintelligence-based operation in the Nasarkhel area of Sarai Nurang, LakkiMarwat district, resulting in the elimination of nine militants affiliatedwith the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
According to military sources, the operation was launched after credibleinformation regarding the presence of a terrorist hideout in the region.The militants were reportedly planning attacks on security personnel andcivilians in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
During the intense exchange of fire, all nine terrorists were killed whileattempting to flee the cordoned area. Weapons, ammunition, and explosiveswere recovered from the site, indicating preparations for subversiveactivities.
No casualties were reported among the security forces. The operationreflects the continued resolve of the armed forces to eradicate terrorismfrom Pakistani soil.
Lakki Marwat has witnessed a surge in terrorist activities in recentmonths, with TTP factions attempting to regroup in former strongholds.Security forces have intensified operations across the province under theongoing counter-terrorism framework.
