Pakistan Strongly Slams India at the UN Security Council

At the UN, Pakistan has denounced India’s unilateral suspension of IndusWaters Treaty.

In a statement at the UN Security Council, Pakistan’s PermanentRepresentative to the UN Ambassador Asim Iftikhar Ahmad decried India’segregious dismantling of a mechanism that safeguarded equitable waterdistribution, exposing millions to heightened climate vulnerability.

He said disrupting the Treaty, long hailed as a model of resilience evenamid conflict, imperils regional stability, ecological balance and weakensglobal confidence in the sanctity of international agreements.

The Ambassador recalled that the Court of Arbitration’s 2025 award hasupheld the continuing validity of the Treaty and its dispute-resolutionmechanisms. He urged an early return to compliance and normal functioningthrough the established channels.
