India Alleges Pakistan Using Drones to Send Anti-Tank Weapons into Punjab

NEW DELHI- In a serious escalation of border tensions, an Indian BorderSecurity Force (BSF) commander has accused Pakistan of sending anti-tankweapons across the Punjab border using drones. The allegation has sparkedoutrage in New Delhi, with the commander terming the act as nothing lessthan a “declaration of war” by Pakistan.

According to Indian media reports, BSF officials claimed to haveintercepted several drones near the international border in Punjab carryingarms and ammunition, including anti-tank rockets. The BSF has reportedlylaunched an investigation to trace the origin and frequency of such droneincursions.

The commander stated that “Pakistan’s use of armed drones is a directprovocation and an act of aggression that challenges India’s sovereignty.”

Pakistani authorities, however, have not yet issued an official response tothe allegations. Analysts note that such claims often emerge amidheightened tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors, and both sideshave previously accused each other of border violations.

The use of drones for cross-border smuggling or military purposes hasbecome a growing concern in recent years, with both India and Pakistaninvesting in counter-drone technologies.

This latest accusation could mark a dangerous escalation in the fragilepeace along the India-Pakistan border, potentially drawing strongdiplomatic and military reactions from both sides.
