Ishaq Dar, Saudi FM Discuss Gaza Ceasefire Efforts Amid Hamas Response to U.S. Plan

ISLAMABAD – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator MohammadIshaq Dar held a telephonic conversation on Saturday with Saudi ForeignMinister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud to review the latest regionaldevelopments, particularly the ongoing crisis in Gaza, the Foreign Officesaid in a statement.

The two leaders discussed continuing diplomatic efforts, includingconsultations among eight Arab-Islamic countries and the United States inNew York, aimed at securing an immediate and durable ceasefire, ensuringunhindered humanitarian aid, and advancing comprehensive peace in Gaza.

Ishaq Dar appreciated the Saudi Foreign Minister’s constructive role andsustained engagement in the peace process. Both sides also reviewed recentdevelopments, including Hamas’ response to the proposal of U.S. PresidentDonald Trump.

Hamas recently announced its acceptance of key elements of the proposedceasefire plan, including the release of hostages, while seeking furthernegotiations on specific details and a role in shaping Gaza’s politicalfuture.

Reaffirming their firm commitment to the Palestinian cause, both ministersagreed to remain closely engaged with Arab and Islamic partners, as well asthe wider international community, to push forward efforts for a just,comprehensive, and lasting peace based on the two-state solution.
