*Dhaka:* Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, during his visit toBangladesh, held an important meeting with Bangladesh Nationalist Party(BNP) Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia. Thediscussions focused on bilateral relations, political and economiccooperation, as well as the overall situation in the region.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir was also present at themeeting. Minister Dar conveyed the good wishes of Pakistan’s Prime Ministerand the people of Pakistan for the health and well-being of Begum KhaledaZia.
As part of strengthening ties, Pakistan announced *500 scholarships forBangladeshi students over the next five years*.
Earlier, the Foreign Minister also met with Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser,Professor Muhammad Yunus. According to the Foreign Office spokesperson, themeeting centered on restoring Pakistan-Bangladesh relations, enhancingpeople-to-people contacts—particularly among the youth—and improvingregional connectivity.
Both sides also exchanged views on recent regional developments andprospects for broader cooperation. The Deputy Prime Minister expressedgratitude to the Bangladeshi government for its warm hospitality.
It is worth noting that Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar’s series of meetingswith key Bangladeshi leaders are aimed at further strengthening bilateralcooperation in trade, investment, and other vital sectors.
