*Islamabad, August 22, 2025* – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign MinisterIshaq Dar said on Friday that Pakistan was offered to sit on table withIndia at the neutral venue, to which Pakistan agreed. He said that Pakistanis ready to engage in comprehensive dialogue with India. Speaking toreporters in Islamabad, he clarified that Pakistan has not sought mediationfrom any third party, but accepted the idea of a neutral meeting when itwas proposed.
Dar stressed that any talks between Islamabad and New Delhi must not beconfined to a single agenda item. “We have made it clear that discussionswith India will not be on one issue alone,” he said, adding that Pakistanis prepared to address all outstanding matters, including the long-standingdispute over Jammu and Kashmir. He criticized India for continuing with“unnecessary rhetoric” instead of engaging in meaningful talks.
The foreign minister also touched on the recent ceasefire arrangementsalong the Line of Control (LoC). He disclosed that India had approached theUnited States to help secure the ceasefire and that he personally receiveda call from Washington regarding the arrangement. “Pakistan never wantedwar in the first place,” Dar remarked, underlining Islamabad’s consistentstance in favor of peace and stability in the region.
On broader diplomatic efforts, Dar clarified that U.S. Secretary of StateMarco Rubio’s visit to Pakistan has not yet been scheduled, dismissingrecent speculation in the media. He further announced that he would bedeparting on a two-day visit to Bangladesh, with the goal of bringing thetwo South Asian nations closer and expanding bilateral cooperation.
Dar’s comments reflect Islamabad’s renewed emphasis on dialogue andregional diplomacy, while placing responsibility on India to reciprocate increating conditions conducive for peace.
