After Chinese FM Visit, Pakistan Makes an Offer to India

*Islamabad (August 22, 2025):* Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign MinisterIshaq Dar has said that Pakistan is ready for comprehensive dialogue withIndia, including the core issue of Kashmir. He added that the United Stateshad been informed that Pakistan was open to talks, but discussions mustcover all outstanding matters, not just selective points. This comes afterthe important visit of Chinese Foreign Minister to both Pakistan and India.

Speaking to the media in Islamabad, Dar said that the ceasefire agreementbetween Pakistan and India remains intact. “India had requested the UnitedStates for the ceasefire. I received a call from Washington regarding this,and I made it clear that Pakistan never wanted war in the first place,” hestated.

The Deputy Prime Minister clarified that Pakistan did not ask any countryto arrange dialogue with India. “We were told about the possibility of ameeting at a neutral venue, and I responded that if it happens, Pakistanhas no objection,” he said.

Dar stressed that talks with India cannot be limited to a single-pointagenda. “We have made it clear that dialogue will only move forward ifKashmir and all other unresolved issues are discussed. Meanwhile, Indiacontinues its unnecessary rhetoric,” he added.

Regarding diplomatic engagements, Ishaq Dar confirmed that the U.S.Secretary of State’s visit to Pakistan is not yet scheduled. “Tomorrow, Iwill be leaving for a two-day official visit to Bangladesh. The aim of thistrip is to bring Pakistan and Bangladesh closer,” he informed.
