An Islamabad court has ordered the release of 63 Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers who were arrested during the August 15 protests.
The District and Sessions Court approved their post-arrest bail petitions, with Judicial Magistrate Mureed Abbas announcing the verdict after reserving judgment.
Of the released workers, 40 were granted bail in cases registered at Margalla Police Station, while 23 secured bail in cases filed at Industrial Area Police Station.
The arrested individuals had faced charges including attempted murder, robbery, and other serious offenses. However, the court deemed the cases bailable and ordered their release.
The ruling provides legal relief to PTI as the party continues to navigate escalating political and judicial challenges following the protests and subsequent arrests.
