Pakistan and China have signed 12 new cooperation agreements worth RMB 235 million during the Pakistan-focused session of the 15th Kashgar–Central and South Asia Commodity Fair, held in Xinjiang’s Kashgar region. The agreements mark another step forward in strengthening bilateral economic collaboration.
The projects cover a wide range of sectors including trade, logistics, agriculture, tourism, new energy, and information technology. These align with the vision of the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and are seen as practical outcomes of the partnership’s continuing growth.
Organizers of the event noted a sharp increase in commercial engagement between Kashgar and Pakistan, with bilateral trade growing by 74 percent year-on-year in the first half of 2025. More than 200 Kashgar-based companies are now doing business in Pakistan, while 56 Pakistani firms have established themselves in Kashgar, particularly in logistics, import-export, and jewelry processing.
The fair, which began on August 15, attracted 181 foreign enterprises and over 1,120 Chinese firms, offering a strong platform for regional trade and investment. The new agreements highlight the expanding commercial ties between the two countries and reaffirm Pakistan’s commitment to advancing economic cooperation through CPEC.
