*Islamabad:* Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has said that China considersPakistan a reliable ally and is determined to take bilateral relations tonew heights.
Addressing a joint press conference in Islamabad alongside his Pakistanicounterpart, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Wang Yiexpressed gratitude to the Pakistani government and people for their warmhospitality. He said that the meeting covered a wide range of issuesincluding bilateral cooperation, regional matters, and an in-depthdiscussion on CPEC Phase-II.
Wang Yi emphasized that the strategic partnership between China andPakistan is strengthening further, with both countries committed to theshared goal of regional peace and stability. He added that China is keen toexpand bilateral cooperation with Pakistan and looks forward to PrimeMinister Shehbaz Sharif’s upcoming visit to Beijing.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said that his talkswith the Chinese Foreign Minister were meaningful and productive. He notedthat both sides discussed issues of mutual interest, reviewed all aspectsof Pak-China relations, and reaffirmed commitment to advancing cooperationin CPEC Phase-II, people-to-people exchanges, and bilateral projects.
Dar praised China’s commitment to Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorialintegrity and reiterated Pakistan’s determination to work together withChina for peace and prosperity in the region. He also said that bothcountries will continue to support each other at the UN Security Counciland other international forums.
