*Kandahar, Afghanistan –* A senior commander of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan(TTP) was shot dead by unidentified assailants on the outskirts of Kandaharcity late last night.
According to local sources, gunmen riding on motorcycles opened fireon *NaqeebullahAgha*, killing him on the spot.
Naqeebullah Agha, also known by the alias *“Khawarij Commander ofBalochistan,”* hailed from Pakistan’s Pishin district. He had been inhiding in Afghanistan for an extended period of time and was considered akey figure within the TTP’s network operating in the region.
So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack. Afghanauthorities have not issued an official statement regarding the incident.
The killing marks another significant blow to the TTP, which has facedincreasing internal rifts and targeted attacks on its leadership inAfghanistan in recent months.
