*KARACHI:* A significant breakthrough has emerged in the investigation intothe mysterious death of private TV journalist Khawar Hussain, as revealedby the Sindh government’s special fact-finding committee.
Addressing a press conference, Additional Inspector General (AIG)Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) Azad Khan, who is heading the inquiry,stated that an important witness has come forward. The witness reportedlyspoke with Khawar Hussain shortly before his death.
According to Azad Khan, Hussain’s car, mobile phone, and pistol have beensent for forensic examination, while authorities are also collecting CCTVfootage covering his journey from Karachi to Sanghar.
The journalist’s body underwent a second post-mortem examination as part ofthe investigation.
The committee head further disclosed that only one mobile phone wasrecovered from Hussain’s car. However, investigators suspect he owned asecond phone, believed to be in possession of his family, which will alsobe taken into custody for examination.
