Pakistan’s PowerIndex score for 2025 is 0.2513, with a perfect score being 0.0000.
Pakistan’s military capabilities are bolstered by several factors. The country benefits from a large population, providing a substantial pool of military personnel. Pakistan is one of the few countries with a nuclear weapons program, enhancing its strategic deterrence. The country also possesses a diverse range of military hardware, including tanks, aircraft, and naval vessels. Additionally, Pakistan maintains strong defense relationships, notably with China, which has facilitated material acquisitions.
In comparison, India ranks 4th globally with a PowerIndex score of 0.1184, reflecting its larger defense budget and modernization efforts. However, Pakistan’s strategic positioning and military capabilities continue to assert its presence in the region.
In a significant move to bolster its defense capabilities, Pakistan established the Army Rocket Force Command in August 2025. This new command is tasked with overseeing the country’s missile combat capabilities in conventional warfare, signaling a strategic enhancement of Pakistan’s military infrastructure.
