Islamabad – A training aircraft crashed near the New IslamabadInternational Airport on Saturday, but both pilots on board escapedunharmed, according to sources.
The aircraft, belonging to a private flying club, went down in the fieldsof Rama Village near Airport Tower 39. Onboard were pilot Noroz and traineepilot Ayesha, who both survived the incident without major injuries.
Rescue teams promptly reached the crash site and shifted the pilots to ahospital for medical examination. Authorities have sealed off the area, andan official inquiry into the cause of the crash has been launched.
