Pak-US Relations Reach New Highs: US Secretary of State Rubio Urges Cooperation on Trade, Minerals, and Security

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio has extended warm congratulations to the people of Pakistan on the occasion of their Independence Day. In a statement, he expressed the United States’ appreciation for Pakistan’s cooperation on counter-terrorism and trade.

Rubio highlighted the potential for expanding economic collaboration, including in critical minerals and hydrocarbons, and fostering dynamic business partnerships to promote a prosperous future for both Americans and Pakistanis.

The US State Department’s Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs also conveyed its best wishes to Pakistan on its 78th Independence Day. In a post on its X account, the bureau stated: “We look forward to deepening people-to-people and economic ties as our two countries work together to build a prosperous future for Americans and Pakistanis.”

In a video message, US Congressman Pete Sessions addressed the Pakistani community, saying: “To my friends in the Pakistani community, congratulations. Today is a day to remember once again the valuable contributions you have made to the United States of America.”

Meanwhile, US Congresswoman Yvette Clarke also extended her greetings, stating: “It is my privilege and honor to wish the people of Pakistan, as well as Pakistani-Americans in Brooklyn and across the nation, a very joyous Independence Day.”
