PM Announces New Laptop Scheme: Over 100,000 Laptops to Be Distributed Across Provinces

On Tuesday, at an International Youth Day event in Islamabad, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif announced the merit-based distribution of 100,000 free laptops to talented students nationwide.

The Prime Minister announced that the distribution of laptops will cover all four provinces, the federal capital Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu & Kashmir, stressing that the process will be purely merit-based with no room for nepotism.

He clarified that these laptops are separate from the initiative that provides laptops through interest-based loans. The premier urged the youth to channel the spirit of this achievement into hard work and dedication, bringing pride and recognition to the country.

Earlier, during the ceremony, Chairman Prime Minister’s Youth Program Rana Mashhood highlighted that the government’s merit-based youth initiatives have enabled talented and deserving students to succeed. He cited several landmark projects that have supported thousands in completing their education, including the Pakistan Education Endowment Scheme, the Pakistan Daanish Authority, and the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme.
