The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Lahore has issued a detailed verdict in the May 9 Shadman police station case. In the 93-page decision, the court issued non-bailable arrest warrants against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Aliya Hamza and Sanam Javed.
According to Dawn News, the ATC Lahore judge, Manzar Ali Gul, ordered the police to arrest Aliya Hamza and Sanam Javed and send them to jail for punishment.
The verdict stated that Sanam Javed is popular on social media, and both Aliya Hamza and Sanam Javed have been posting inflammatory content on social media. Data was also recovered from the mobile phones of both accused. Aliya Hamza is a senior PTI leader and had incited the public.
According to the ATC court’s decision, police officers recovered social media posts and video clips from USB drives, and Aliya Hamza and Sanam Javed were named based on supplementary statements.
The verdict further mentioned that, according to witnesses, PTI leader Mian Mahmood Al-Rasheed was present at the scene. Eleven witnesses testified against Mian Mahmood Al-Rasheed.
According to the anti-terrorism court verdict, the PTI leader stated that on May 9, they did not take the law into their own hands. However, on May 9, attacks were carried out on government installations across the country. The prosecution has proven its case in the Shadman police station arson and siege case.
