*Pakistan Invited to Turkmenistan Investment Forum as Bilateral TiesStrengthen*
ASHGABAT / ISLAMABAD – Turkmenistan has officially invited Pakistan toparticipate in the upcoming Turkmenistan Investment Forum (TIF), set totake place in Ashgabat next month. The invitation comes amid growingmomentum in bilateral relations, especially in the areas of trade, energy,and infrastructure.
The announcement was made following a meeting between Pakistan’s FinanceMinister, Muhammad Aurangzeb, and Turkmen Ambassador to Pakistan, AtadjanMovlamov. Both officials reaffirmed their countries’ commitment todeepening economic ties and enhancing regional cooperation.
During the meeting, key projects and opportunities for collaboration werediscussed, with particular focus on energy connectivity — a sector that haslong been central to the two nations’ strategic engagement. TheTurkmenistan–Afghanistan–Pakistan–India (TAPI) gas pipeline project washighlighted as a cornerstone initiative for regional energy integration.
Finance Minister Aurangzeb welcomed the invitation and expressed Pakistan’skeen interest in participating in the forum. He emphasized that platformslike the TIF offer valuable opportunities for Pakistan to engage withinternational investors and explore joint ventures in sectors ranging frominfrastructure development to renewable energy.
The Turkmenistan Investment Forum aims to attract foreign investment intothe country by showcasing Turkmenistan’s economic potential and reformagenda. Pakistan’s participation is expected to pave the way for greaterprivate-sector collaboration and state-level agreements between the twonations.
As regional connectivity continues to take center stage in Central andSouth Asian diplomacy, both Turkmenistan and Pakistan view such engagementsas essential for shared economic prosperity and long-term stability.
