Renowned American security analyst Christine Fair has strongly rejected therecent statement made by an Indian Air Marshal claiming that multiplePakistani aircraft were shot down. She termed the claim as “utterly falseand fabricated”, comparing it to India’s earlier false narrative in 2019regarding the downing of a Pakistani F-16.
Fair pointed out that such claims are part of a broader pattern ofmisinformation aimed at shaping public perception within India. Sherecalled the events of 2019 when India asserted it had destroyed aPakistani F-16 during aerial skirmishes, a claim later proven baseless byindependent investigations and U.S. officials.
According to Fair, repeated false narratives not only undermine India’scredibility on the global stage but also escalate tensions in the alreadyvolatile region. She emphasized the need for transparency and factualreporting, warning that such unfounded allegations could lead tounnecessary hostility and mistrust between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.
She further stated that the international community should be cautiousabout accepting unverified military claims and should rely on credibleevidence before drawing conclusions.
