Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has approved a landmark Rs. 100 billion interest-free loan program to support wheat growers across the province.
Chairing a high-level meeting, she directed the formulation of a comprehensive strategy to boost wheat yields while easing the financial strain on farmers. Maryam stressed the importance of reducing input costs ahead of the sowing season, instructing authorities to ensure an uninterrupted supply of fertilizer and extend targeted subsidies to small-scale farmers.
The plan, endorsed during the meeting, will see the disbursement of interest-free loans before wheat cultivation begins. Reaffirming her government’s commitment, the Chief Minister said Punjab’s farmers would continue to receive full support and resources from the provincial administration.
