The Pakistan Navy and Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) on Thursday carried out a major counter-narcotics operation, seizing approximately 1,250 kilograms of illicit drugs near the Pasni coast in Balochistan. According to the Navy’s media wing, the confiscated drugs are valued at around $38 million in the international market.
The consignment—intended for smuggling via the Arabian Sea to global destinations—included 1,100 kg of hashish, 100 kg of heroin, and 50 kg of crystal meth. All seized narcotics have been handed over to the ANF for legal proceedings.
In an official statement, the Pakistan Navy highlighted the success of the joint intelligence-based operation as a clear reflection of its commitment to combat illegal maritime activities.
“This successful operation is a testament to Pakistan Navy’s resolve to fight against illegal activities as a national obligation,” the statement read. “Pakistan Navy will continue to fulfill its responsibility to maintain lawful order at sea.”
The Navy and ANF have a history of cooperation in such operations, having carried out several successful missions targeting smuggling routes along Pakistan’s coastline. In 2023, a similar operation in the Arabian Sea resulted in the seizure of drugs valued at over Rs3 billion.
