LAKKI MARWAT – Two police personnel sustained injuries on Sunday in yet another quadcopter attack targeting the Miryan Police Station in Bannu district, officials confirmed.
A police source said that the injured officers, identified as Adnan and Ihsan, were immediately shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital for medical treatment.
“It seems the attack was aimed at thermal surveillance cameras installed at the station for security monitoring,” the official noted. He added that although police personnel returned fire, they were unable to hit the fast-moving drone, which fled in the direction of the Ghora Bakkakhel area.
This latest strike follows a similar attack on Saturday, during which six security officials—including two army soldiers and three Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) commandos—were wounded amid an ongoing anti-terror operation in the region.
Miryan Police Station has been repeatedly targeted by quadcopter attacks over the past month, raising concerns about evolving tactics used by militant groups operating in the area.
