*COAS General Asim Munir Reviews Operational Readiness, ReaffirmsCommitment to National Defense*
ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Army has formally inducted the advanced Chinese-builtZ-10ME attack helicopters into its aviation fleet, a significantenhancement to the country’s combat capabilities amid evolving regionalsecurity challenges.
Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir witnessed the inductionceremony and reviewed the operational readiness of the newly acquiredhelicopters. Addressing the officers and crew, General Munir praised thecapability of the Z-10ME, highlighting its cutting-edge firepower, agility,and ability to operate in high-threat environments.
The Z-10ME is an export variant of China’s Z-10 attack helicopter, designedspecifically for harsh climates and complex terrains like those found alongPakistan’s eastern and western borders. Armed with guided missiles,rockets, and a 30mm cannon, the helicopter is equipped with advancedavionics, target acquisition systems, and countermeasure suites.
Military officials stated that the Z-10ME would significantly bolsterPakistan’s anti-armor and close air support capabilities, providingcritical support to ground forces in both conventional and asymmetricwarfare.
During the visit, COAS Munir was briefed on operational integration andtactical deployment strategies for the Z-10ME fleet. He lauded theprofessional excellence of the Army Aviation Corps and reiterated PakistanArmed Forces’ unwavering resolve to defend the country’s sovereignty andterritorial integrity.
“Pakistan Army remains fully prepared to respond to any threat withcomplete force,” General Munir emphasized, warning that any misadventure byhostile elements would meet a decisive response.
The induction of the Z-10ME comes at a time of heightened tensions in theregion, underscoring Islamabad’s strategic partnership with Beijing and itsfocus on modernizing its defense inventory to counter emerging threats.
Defense analysts see the acquisition as part of Pakistan’s broader strategyto enhance its offensive strike capabilities and maintain a credibledeterrent against regional adversaries.
