Lahore – A serious train accident occurred Tuesday evening when the Islamabad Express, traveling from Lahore to Rawalpindi, derailed near Kala Shah Kaku and Muridke. According to early reports, six bogies of the passenger train went off the tracks, leaving at least 25 people injured. No fatalities have been reported as of yet.
Eyewitnesses and media sources indicate that in the immediate aftermath of the derailment, passengers began rescue efforts on their own, helping fellow travelers and searching for assistance in the dark.
The accident took place while the train was reportedly moving at a speed of 105 kilometers per hour. Federal Minister for Railways, Hanif Abbasi, has instructed the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pakistan Railways and the Divisional Superintendent (DS) to immediately reach the site and oversee relief operations.
