Pakistan’s diplomatic outreach with Turkiye and Iran against Israel blockade of Gaza

Amid worsening humanitarian crisis, Islamabad intensifies diplomaticoutreach with Ankara and Tehran for regional unity

ISLAMABAD – In a series of high-level diplomatic engagements on Monday,Pakistan reaffirmed its strong commitment to the Palestinian cause,emphasizing the urgency of a ceasefire in Gaza and the immediate deliveryof humanitarian aid. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister SenatorMohammad Ishaq Dar held telephonic discussions with his counterparts fromTurkiye and Iran to coordinate positions on the escalating crisis.

During a detailed conversation with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan,both leaders condemned Israel’s relentless military operations in Gaza andvoiced alarm over the deepening humanitarian disaster. They highlightedissues such as starvation, the displacement of civilians, and the mountingcivilian death toll as unacceptable and in violation of internationalhumanitarian law.

Both sides underscored the need for a united global stance to endhostilities and advance a just, comprehensive, and lasting solution to theconflict based on the two-state framework. They also expressed hope thatthe ongoing international conference on the implementation of the two-statesolution at the United Nations would yield tangible outcomes.

In a separate telephonic conversation, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar alsospoke with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi. The two officialsexchanged views on the deteriorating conditions in Gaza and stressed theurgency of providing immediate and unhindered humanitarian access toaffected populations.

Mr. Dar reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian peopleand called for stronger coordination among regional and internationalstakeholders to halt the suffering of millions. The conversation alsotouched upon upcoming high-level visits between Pakistan and Iran aimed atenhancing bilateral cooperation on pressing regional issues, including Gaza.

These diplomatic discussions reflect Pakistan’s active efforts to buildregional consensus and push for a ceasefire in Gaza amid growing calls fromthe international community for an end to the violence.
