BANNU – In a significant security incident, the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan(TTP) attempted a drone strike on the Miryan Police Station in Bannudistrict, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The attack was thwarted by the prompt andeffective action of local law enforcement personnel.
According to official sources, the drone was spotted flying at low altitudein close proximity to the police station late Thursday night. Officers onduty immediately responded by opening fire on the unmanned aerial vehicle,successfully bringing it down before it could cause any harm or damage.
The timely detection and interception of the drone averted a potentiallycatastrophic situation. Security officials believe the drone may have beenequipped with explosives or surveillance tools, although investigations areongoing to determine its payload and origin.
