Pakistan delivered a commanding performance on Friday, defeating arch-rivals India in straight sets (25-16, 25-19, 25-12) to storm into the final of the 2nd Asian Men’s U-16 Volleyball Championship 2025 in Nakhon Phanom, Thailand.
The Pakistan Volleyball Association celebrated the achievement on Instagram, calling it a “dream run” by the U-16 squad.
“Team Pakistan U-16 Men’s Volleyball continues its dream run by defeating arch-rivals India in the semi-final,” the statement read.
Powered by standout performances from Junaid, Faizan, Irfan, and Talha, the Green Shirts made light work of the Indian side and kept their unbeaten streak alive.
With this emphatic 3-0 win, Pakistan now advances to the final where they will face defending champions Iran on July 19 at 3:30 PM PKT.
The road to the final has been flawless for Pakistan. In the quarter-finals, the team crushed Indonesia in straight sets (25-23, 25-20, 25-20) to not only secure a semi-final spot but also qualify for the FIVB U-17 World Championship — a historic moment for Pakistan volleyball.
“This win is not just about reaching the semi-finals; it’s about proving that Pakistan’s youth has the strength and skill to compete at the highest levels,” said Head Coach Kafiatullah.
Earlier in the group stage, Pakistan brushed aside strong opponents including South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and Chinese Taipei — asserting dominance throughout the tournament.
With their eyes now set on gold, Pakistan’s young volleyball warriors have already made the nation proud — and they’re just one step away from glory.
