The Foreign Ministry has stated that it has no information regarding reports of a potential visit to Pakistan by U.S. President Donald Trump in September.
Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said on Thursday that he was unaware of any such news circulating about President Trump’s visit to Pakistan in September.
It is worth noting that several local television channels, citing unnamed sources, had reported that Trump was expected to visit Pakistan in September and would travel to India afterward.
Speaking to Dawn News, the Foreign Office spokesperson stated, “We have no information on this matter.”
Relations between Pakistan and the United States saw a significant development last month when President Trump received Pakistan’s Army Chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir, at the White House for what was described as an extraordinary meeting.
India is scheduled to host the Quad leaders’ summit this year, although official dates for the summit have not yet been announced. The Quad alliance—comprising the United States, India, Australia, and Japan—is aimed at countering China’s growing influence in the Indo-Pacific region.
Meanwhile, Buckingham Palace announced on Monday that King Charles will host Donald Trump for his second official state visit to the United Kingdom from September 17 to 19.
